Artist’s Bio
Donna Voisin is a mixed media artist, with a passion for oils. She began sketching and painting animals
and nature at an early age. In pursuit of life experiences, including that of a multi-sport travel mom, and
working in education, Donna retreated from painting. Her focus was on supporting the dreams of
others.
In 2020, the pandemic quarantine encouraged Donna to explore the outdoors. During relaxed walks
amongst nature and cycling trips along forested trails, she observed its sights, sounds and tranquility.
Forest bathing reignited her passion to capture its beauty and presence.
Donna now spends her time in her Kitchener studio creating detailed, realistic landscapes. Inspired by
the everchanging colours, serenity and movement of her surroundings, and all she has experienced
across North America, her passion for oils has been reawakened.

Artist’s Statement
Nature bathing provides everything to inspire creativity. Looking past the obvious, I identify a vignette.
In a style of realism, using brush and palette knife, it is captured. I depict the movement of trees; the
everchanging, colourful, serenity or turbulence of a sunset; the isolation of snow-covered woods; all
while paying tribute to that which surrounds us. There is no greater affirmation than when someone
states they thought my painting was a photograph.
